What Has Dieting Done For  You Lately?

Since dieting is based on denial, suppression, criticism and shame I'm guessing nothing good.

Dieting leaves a trail of destruction in its wake.  Whether it's the major health risks associated with Yo-Yo dieting, like increased risk of heart disease and diabetes, or the emotional wounds left by feelings of guilt and disappointment as a result of "failing" to meet the unrealistic expectations of the latest fad diet, dieting can be very harmful to your health and well being.

Rather than trying to force the results you want out of diets that don't work, harness the power and wisdom of mindfulness instead.  Mind Your Food, a mindfulness based weight management program, combines the practice of mindfulness, meditation and yoga to directly address the root causes of issues like over eating, nutrition, exercise, cravings and emotional eating to help you finally reach your weight management goals.  The science backed and evidence based techniques used in this program will not only help you achieve your weight management goals, they will also make maintaining them a deliciously spontaneous and effortless process.

Mind Your Food is for anyone tired of the false promises of dieting.

Whether you are over weight, under weight, or struggling to maintain your weight, Mind Your Food delivers the real and lasting changes you have been working so hard and for so long to achieve.

Who Is Mind Your Food For?

Mind Your Food is a revolutionary new approach to weight loss and fitness. Unlike useless dieting and workout schemes, which center their philosophies around fear, restriction, and shame, Mind Your Food taps into the scientifically proven principles of abundance.

- If you are tired of trying and failing to lose the weight,
- If you have lost the weight just to gain it all back again, or
- If the only way you manage to keep the weight off is through a never ending succession of diets...

Then Mind Your Food is right for You. (*Note: if you are looking for a quick fix or another "lose 10lbs in 10 days" scheme you have come to the wrong place.) This program is for everyone fed up with the failures and false promises of dieting. This program is for those who are truly ready for real and lasting change, not only in their bodies, but also in their lives. Mindfulness based weight management is a concept only for those who are truly ready to make their dreams a reality.  Are you that person? Are you ready to know the truth about nutrition as well as yourself? If so, then Mind Your Food is the right choice for you.  Mind Your Food will show you how to align your actions with your values in order to make your fitness goals not only a reality but effortless too.

The Mind Your Food mindfulness based weight management program will get you off the sidelines and back into the game of your own life.  Dieting has failed too many people too many times.  That stops here.  Diets don't work for the same reason a screw driver can't patch your favorite pair of jeans. It's not the right tool for the job. In this course I will not only give you the tools you need, but teach you how to use them as well, so that you will never have to struggle with your weight again. This 8 week group course combines mindfulness coaching, meditation, and yoga in a dynamic and scientifically proven method to get you out of dieting and into the healthy happy lifestyle you've been searching for.

What’s involved in the practice of mindful eating?

Fundamentally the practice of mindful eating involves Learning how to really love your food.

  •  Devouring every delicious mouthful fully aware of the experience by engaging all of your senses to notice the colors, smells, sounds, textures, and flavors of your food.
  • Learning how to actively listen to your body so you can notice the effects food has on your feelings and figure.
  • Learning how to identify and satisfy what you are really hungry for. (Hint: it isn’t always food)
  • Learning how to actively listen and trust the bodies physical hunger cues and respecting and abiding by the bodies innate wisdom.
  • Learning to cope with guilt and anxiety about food

MELISSA HARLAND

Welcome to Mind Your Food (a mindfulness based weight management program)

As a mindful eating coach, I specialize in helping my clients break free of diet culture in order to re-establish the severed connection between themselves and their bodies responsible for their difficulties with their weight in the first place. Using a combination of mindful eating practices, meditation, and gentle movement I teach my clients how to acknowledge, respect, and meet their physical and emotional needs in a safe and sustainable way.

My name is Melissa. I am a full time healthcare professional, a yoga instructor, content creator and wife. I became a mindful eating coach and developed my flagship product Mind Your Food (an intensive 8 week mindful eating course) after experiencing first hand the power of mindfulness in ending my own struggle with my weight. In learning how to maintain a moment by moment awareness of my feelings, habits and actions with non-judgmental observation, my entire life changed. While most would say I didn't need to worry about my weight, I spent the first 25 years of my life struggling with it. I toggled between obesity and my goal weight, always unhappy with what I saw in the mirror and afraid of my lunch. I tried every diet and bought every stupid weight loss product that I thought might finally get me into a size zero. I even considered major cosmetic surgery. But it wasn't until I stopped relying on stuff "out there" and started listening to the stuff "in here" that I finally conquered obesity and my fear of food. Because of the role mindfulness has played in my very busy and very ordinary life, I knew I had to share it with as many people as I possibly could. I developed this program so that you too, through the practice of yoga and mindful living, might also come to find your own sense of peace and self worth.
